A listing for Dragon Quest Heroes 1 and 2 on the Nintendo Switch has popped up on a Western retail site, seemingly suggesting that the games will be released for Western territories on that platform (via My Nintendo News).
With a worldwide PC release, the game did come to Western audiences on the PlayStation 4, one year after it launched for Japanese players. Dragon Quest 2 brought a lot of additions to the series’ staples, such as a co-op mode, cross-platform play, and unique multiplayer battles. It’s an excellent fit for the pick-up-and-play Nintendo Switch, but at the moment, that’s an exclusive experience for Japanese players once again.
The Console Club, a Greek video games retailer, has put up a listing for the Switch version of Dragon Quest Heroes 1 and 2. The pre-order is priced at €59.90 and comes with all of the games’ downloadable content. It’s the same site that leaked the Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag and Assassin’s Creed: Rogue Switch releases, and that came to fruition. There could be something in this leak.
Neither Omega Force nor Square Enix have acknowledged the listing and so we have to take this discovery with a pinch of salt. One commenter on Resetera has noted that The Console Club’s price is weirdly cheap for an imported video game, undermining the veracity of the leak. We won’t know for sure until the developer or publisher confirm its existence, but we’ll let you know as soon as we get an update.
